Just thinking...how about it, guys? Have ourselves a little fashion competition here? No CW, just to be fair to everyone. What say you?

If it has been suggested, so sorry, frankly I didn't look that hard to see if it has...

I played on another human avatar site and we did fashion competiton on our own.

The OP would make a competiton with 10-15 people with their own prices and their own rules, they would have other judges or not. Then each round would have a theme like beach, wedding, sport etc... The judges would kick out the user with their least favorite outfit each round until they have the top three winners. Those would usually take around 1-2 hours, considering you'd have to give people time to create each outfit.

Those were always super fun run by other users and I'd love to participate if anyone would be interested in doing something like that.

Just curious, what would the difference be between this contest and our past avatar competitions?

Thank you so much for your support, yes, yes, exactly, that's how it would work supposedly, kinda like the reality thingie, you know? It might be cool I think...give us something to do, to work on...to expect...to vote...might be interesting, no?

Erhm...lol, not exactly sure...the name? :P :D I don't really remember many alike competitions, except the music/band glade one, which it wasn't about fashion per say...

No thanks. We've had multiple avatar contests like this before, and they always end up being popularity contests that cause all kinds of drama. Either people basically bribing for votes, or the prizes given are 'unfair'.

As a site wide HA contest this could be cute. And weren't the winners often people that weren't really "popular" ? Though there are many flaws and the userbase is not the most friendly during anything competitive... not really reasons to give a flat out no because then we'd never have anything on here.

I think I would still prefer a fashion contest where users get to sketch out a set (or multiple sets) for a SubQ designer to draw out once they win.

I would love this as the theme for the next Subeautique designer event, a la Tres Chic 2013.

But then 'that wouldn't be fair for the people that can't draw'

Maybe we could provide our own written description like last time...

Yeah, but the last time we did that in a contest, the ones with the art were still given the most votes.

I'm sure an artist could sketch their design for them. And it's a way to combat the "I can't do CWs but can draw" complaints from other contests. I know your comment was tongue-in-cheek, but I know people will seriously make that argument. So to anyone that will: Can't please everyone. Everyone can't do everything. With that argument the site may as well stop doing anything because not everyone can do it all.

We already had Summer in Centropolis and Très Chic, did we?

I'd rather have these back

Not into a SNTM/HA fashion competition, even if we use the glitchy "shared outfits" feature which became a shortly lived idea where all users can use all/any items on site to share avatars/characters/outfits - the v.3 wardrobe needs to get cleaned up/get it's act together before any more site wide avatar competitions imo

But I would 100% totally support another Tres Chic as I wasn't around for the first one in 2013. And I'm all about dat subQ :3

No. No, thanks. I'm not interested in another HA contest when we've already had a lot of them. Unless the voting system is fair and the prizes are decent, I'm not giving it a chance. Sorry.

There is enough elitism to break the whole site. As I've said before, an avatar is aesthetically pleasing to the eye that looks upon it and the beauty of it is a matter of taste. I can already see the unfairness of it, especially because even if we want to be neutral, the staff/us would need to do a 50/50 on the style of each and every contestant. We have gotten a few HA contest in the past and a lot of people ended up salty af. I just don't like the idea of seeing the same pattern again. If they REALLY want to do that, separate RANDOMLY SELECTED CONTESTANTS in team and make them create avatar based on everyone aesthetic. That would be freaking nice, especially because you can 1) have fun and meet new people 2) it breaks elitism 3) it is more fair. I'm all about 's (and all) idea with Tres Chic. It was really interesting and fun. Bring it back!

I don't mind HA contests, but the fairness issue does come up every time.

If we're doing art and written descriptions, these need separate categories and separate votes. Ain't perfect but is more inclusive.

It's usually better when it's the user base versus something/one on the site itself, rather than user v user...

Tres chic re-do would be awesome. Maybe: -voting for the designer clothes order of release, -having all the designers doing their take on a theme (seasonal, Subeta regions, event based, pet inspired - but not dress-up), -giving all designers the same 1 new clothing item and they provide accessories/ items to compliment it in their style -NPC drawn art contest to create new backgrounds

Speaking of NPCs maybe staff can get the NPC HAs to be the models for some clothing, we can vote the best and find out the designer later...
